Visio Swimlane. Drag to move them or change their size and drag process step shapes into them to build the flowchart. To move a swimlane and the shapes it contains select the label and drag the swimlane to another location and then release it when you see the connection indicator.
The following procedure assumes that your drawing has the cross functional flowchart stencil available. Note once you start you can t automatically convert from one orientation to another. The default orientation is horizontal and uses the swimlane and separator shapes.

To change the length of a swimlane drag the end line. In the shapes window in the cross functional flowchart shapes stencil drag a swimlane shape onto the diagram. But you can change the orientation to vertical by deleting the default diagram and then adding the swimlane vertical and separator vertical shapes. Select the swimlane in the drawing drag the bottom line of the lane to change the height drag the right line of the lane to change the width.
