Time Delay Circuit Using 555 Timer. As you can see r2 is connected in series with a capacitor c2 this is an electrolyte capacitor. Most of the time we require some delay to power on our projects or electronic appliances the circuit given here is ideal for these purposes.
Either we can achieve a delay before the circuit turns on or we can turn off the circuit after a delay of some time period. Time delay can be increased by increasing the value of the capacitor. The breadboard schematic of the above circuit is shown below.
If we want to connect more than one led at the output then we will connect the output of 555 timer to a transistor first.
No doubt the heart of this circuit is 555 timer ic. A switch is used at the input pin of the 555 timer ic along with a capacitor when we will turn the switch on relay will be activated and will provide the time delay.
