4 Digit 7 Segment Display Decoder. The hexadecimal 7 segment display decodes 4 binary digit inputs into a hexadecimal number which is displayed using the led segments. This vhdl project will present a full vhdl code for seven segment display on basys 3 fpga.
The other 4 out of the 12 pins control each of the 4 digits on the display. The decoder takes these four bits and convert them to 7 bits to produce the desired decimal digit to display on the seven segment. Any pin that has a resistor on it is one of the 4 digit pins otherwise they are the segment pins.
